I love the acrylic disks, they make smoothing the frosting so much easier. My only complaint is that I wish the distance from the cake to the outer edge of the disk was less. The current distance leaves the cake with ALOT of frosting. With a rich buttercream, everyone felt like it was too much frosting. Most of it got dumped. I haven't used them much though, so maybe I'll figure out a trick 🤔
